Rich Covert is a professional photographer and owner of Covert Family Photography in Union Pier, Michigan.

Photography began for me in kindergarten, wouldn't you know it? The teacher was making plans for our Easter pagent. She asked for volunteers for the differrent roles. When it came to the role of the photographer, no one raised their hand and everyone was silent. After a few moments, I raised my hand and said, "I'll do it." My Mom was a very good amatuer photographer. She gave me "the eye". Thanks Mom! My dad used to drive the family down to the beach to watch the sunset over Lake Michigan. He gave me the sense of timing and location. Thanks Dad!

After spending many years in California, I have moved back to Michigan. So, you will see many recent photographs of Michigan and California in my portfolio. I am now accepting reservations for wedding photography in Michigan, Indiana and Illinois. Give me a call to make an appointment.

You can visit me most Saturdays and Sundays at Skips Open-Air European Farmers Market from May 14 through October 9, 2011. It is located on Red Arrow Highway, three miles north of New Buffalo, Michigan. Skips also has a terrific resturant and some of my work is on display in the lobby. It's worth the drive.
